Dear SSET members,
SSET has recently returned from the first ever joint ASET/SSET meeting in Atlanta. What a great meeting (how did they get DARPA to speak?) and grand time was had by all. Our board member, Andrew Ehrenberg, was co-chair of the educational committee. He did a fantastic job! At the vendor’s reception, a few of us dressed up in alien costumes to liven up the festivities and to promote the “First Contact” theme. Pictures soon to be posted! The social on Friday eve was well attended and the band was awesome-special thanks there to Bobby Taskey, our board member, for lining that up and also who MC’d the event. He can always get the crowd going!
Looking forward, 2012 will soon be upon us and a site will be decided on for the 52nd annual meeting. As soon as the hotel is chosen, I will have the info posted here for you all to “save the date” if you wish.
I would like to mention that one of our local sleep societies, NCAST or now NCASM (North Carolina Academy of Sleep Medicine) is going to have a weekend two day meeting here in Chapel Hill, NC on November 12-13, 2011. I will be there helping out at the registration desk. Mary Mondul, our Past President, will be giving a lecture. So if you need sleep credits, CME’s and CEU’s are both being offered so stop on by and say hello! We love to meet new folks and reunite with old friends.
ABRET EEG/EP Boards will be held at MUSC in Charleston, SC October 1-2, 2011, hosted by Adam Kornegay. I will be there as an EP examiner for the weekend and look forward to meeting those of you who plan to attend.
Will keep everyone posted on new developments! We plan to incorporate more educational info on our website soon.
Wishing you all the best to you and your families!
